alexis … senior session

March 10, 2010

Hellooooooo everyone!  We know, we know, it’s been a while!  In case you’ve been wondering, we haven’t been hibernating.  We’ve actually been busy with our business with a lot of behind the scenes work … pretty much everything but snapping pictures.  We couldn’t think of a better way to get the juices goin’ than shooting a rad senior session.  We’d like to introduce to you Alexis, soon-to-be high school graduate.  Since we first met with him months ago, we instantly clicked.  The more we got to know who he was all about, the more we fell in love with him.  He has a strong walk, a deep faith, and wears his heart on his sleeve.  Alexis definitely stands for what he believes in!  Check this story out… We found out that for his senior pictures, he really wanted us to shoot his pictures.  So he told his school that he was going to have his own photographers do his senior pictures instead of the school-appointed-photography-studio.  They told him that if he didn’t go with the school photographers that he wouldn’t be able to come out in his own yearbook.  Guess what he did… Yup!  He believed in us so much he went with us!  We were upset at first (with the school), then we felt deeply humbled (with Alexis’ decision).  What do you guys think about this?  Let us know.  Enjoy the pics!  And the slide-show! AC12

Last week we did a photo shoot with Michael in Santa Ana.  He’s graduating high school this year and his mother, Tina, wanted some pics of him to mark the occasion.  Michael and Tina had to be one of our, if not, best clients.  They were awesome.  For the photo session, Tina left everything to us and told us to do our thing, and Michael was up for anything and everything.  We couldn’t have asked for better clients!  Michael was a little shy at the beginning, but after a series of shots, his rockin’ personality began to flow out.  We just had a blast shooting Michael.  Towards the end of the session, he was such a handful.  In between shots, or during lighting setup, he would do these hilarious things, knowing we weren’t ready to shoot him… let’s just say we truly enjoyed his antics.  Can’t wait to do Michael’s college pics…4 years is just way too long to wait!  Enjoy the pics!

I was never a prom person…didn’t get it and didn’t want to be a part of it…but after weeks of my mom throwing out phrases like “you’re going to regret not going” and “it only happens once”…I finally gave in.  One of the reasons I don’t like prom is the cheesy pictures they take at the venue.  They all look the same and the pictures do not have any creativity or personality…it’s one pic with one pose.  We want to give the students a chance to get more out of their pictures and have fun doing it.  So about a week ago, we had the opportunity to do just that with Ashley and Joseph.  We joined up right before Joseph showed up to pick up Ashely, we spent the next hour on location shooting pictures, and done, they were off to prom.  We had a great time hanging out with Joseph and Ashley, they were both awesome, despite the numerous howling and whistling from old men drive-byers ( I never understood that and I’m a guy)…  Anyways, we took pics of Ashley and Joseph and not the pigs…so here they are…enjoy the pics!
